SUMMARY:A Shared Response to Women's Financial Wellbeing
DESCRIPTION:Middle aged woman with grey hair smiling against forest background (selective focus)\nAddressing Western Australia’s cost of living pressures requires more than short-term relief. It calls for coordinated\, cross-sector action that tackles the structural drivers of financial hardship. \nThis event brings together leaders from government\, community services\, industry and academia to advance a shared response to one of the most persistent and predictable drivers of financial vulnerability: women’s financial wellbeing. \nAcross the life course\, women experience systemic financial disadvantage linked to employment patterns\, caring responsibilities\, separation\, and lower retirement savings. These inequities not only impact individual wellbeing\, but they also drive increasing demand across health\, justice and social systems. \nThis session will explore how a coordinated\, system-level approach can: \n\nstrengthen early intervention and prevention\nbuild long-term financial capability\nsupport structural reform to reduce entrenched disadvantage\n\nRather than focusing on individual responses\, the discussion will centre on how sectors can work together\, aligning policy\, services\, and investment\, to create meaningful and lasting change. \nFacilitated by the Financial Wellbeing Collective (FWC)\, in partnership with Bankwest and the Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre (BCEC)\, this event offers a unique opportunity to connect with cross-sector peers and potential partners\, contribute to shaping a shared agenda and be part of advancing WA’s Cost of Living Strategy in practice. \nIf your work intersects with financial wellbeing\, economic policy\, service delivery\, or system reform\, this conversation is for you.
